From Bump, Birth and Beyond: “Be a
Baby” again with Pampers®
January 24, 2005. Imagine you are a baby. Imagine seeing,
hearing, feeling, moving and
learning as a baby. Imagine entering
into another dimension, where
you can see for yourself what
life is like for a baby. Welcome
to the Pampers ”World
of Babies.”
“World of Babies” is a 300m² experience centre created by Pampers where
visitors can experience children’s different stages of development;
from being a foetus in the womb, to the fun of being three
years old.
Developed by Pampers, with input and guidance from
child development experts from the Pampers Institute,
the interactive “World of Babies” is Pampers’ way
to encourage all of us, but especially parents, to see the
world as a baby does and by doing so understand ways in which
to help children develop.
“We used to believe that the infant was passive and that
learning did not start until some time after the birth. But
over the last few decades research about infants has revolutionised.
Today we know so much more about how the infant perceives the
world. We know that learning already starts in the womb,” said Pampers
Institute member Annette Karmiloff-Smith , Professor and
Head of the Neurocognitive Development Unit at the Institute
of Child Health in London
“The idea behind Pampers’ “World of Babies” is that
when you see the world through a baby’s eyes you can more easily
understand and support the baby’s development .”
“World of Babies” is built up around the child’s fundamental
development. The visitor can experience life in the womb, birth
and how baby moves and thinks. From the first room where visitors
experience the sensations of a baby in the womb to the last
room that illustrates how everyday activities help baby develop
his brain power. World of Babies is informative, fascinating
and fun!
“Everything that Pampers does
starts from the child’s perspective.
From product development to
the way we communicate, we
are learning from babies.
For more than 40 years we’ve
worked with parents and tens
of thousands of babies around
the world to better understand
baby development. By creating
“World of Babies” we can give
other adults the opportunity
to experience the world as
a baby does and learn how
to make it better,” said David
Jones, PampersUK
Brand Manager.
The interactive experience
centre will be visiting the
UK from January through to
March 2005. For
more information and to book
tickets go to www.pampers.com or
