have
appointed
Mr Chris de Lapuente, currently
Vice President and General Manager
of Procter & Gamble UK & Ireland
to the position of President,
Global Haircare with effect from
1 July 2004 . Mr de Lapuente succeeds
Mr Martin Nuechtern, who goes
on a special assignment prior to
his
retirement next year. Mr de Lapuente
will be based at P&G’s
Global Haircare headquarters
in Egham, Surrey .
Mr de Lapuente joined P&G in the UK in 1983 and held a number of assignments in the Marketing department before transferring to P&G Spain as Marketing Director for laundry and cleaning products. After a spell in Turkey he became General Manager for P&G’s European Feminine Protection business, based in Frankfurt , in 1995 before returning to the UK in 1998.
Mr de Lapuente is delighted with his new challenge. He says:
“This is a great time to be joining P&G’s Haircare team. Our Haircare business globally is performing strongly with growth in all regions and particularly great progress on Head & Shoulders, Pantene and Herbal Essences. Add to that the recent acquisition of the Wella business and the future is looking very bright.”
Mr de Lapuente is married with two children and lives in Weybridge in Surrey . He is succeeded as Vice President and General Manager of Procter & Gamble UK & Ireland by Mr Gianni Ciserani, who is currently Vice President, Europe Babycare based in Geneva . Mr Ciserani is a native of Verona , Italy and joined P&G in Rome in 1987, where he held positions of increasing responsibility before moving to Frankfurt in 1998 as Marketing Director, Pampers Western Europe. He took up his current assignment in 2000.
He is married with two sons and is looking forward to his new assignment. He says:
“The P&G UK & Ireland company is one of the prized jobs for any General Manager. The business is in great shape and delivering record results. I am very excited at the prospect of leading the great UK & Ireland team to even greater record breaking success.”
