2nd February 2007 - The third annual P&G Beauty Awards took place on Thursday 1st February. The Awards, held at the Hayward Gallery, were created by P&G Beauty to reward the talented and creative within the beauty and grooming industry, and to further demonstrate P&G Beauty's commitment to the UK Beauty and Grooming industry.

350 of the great and the good of the UK beauty & grooming industry were in attendance - guests included editors, publishers, and potential award winning beauty and grooming editors themselves. Also present were industry movers and shakers and the eminent judging panel. Panellists include AA Gill (journalist, author and panel chairman); Anastasia Achilleos (facialist and Olay ambassador); Ben Cooke (hair stylist and Herbal Essences ambassador); Ed Needham (magazine editor); Jade Parfit (model); Jane Packer (florist); Lucy Caldwell (author); Rachel Stevens (singer); Robert Fairer (photographer); Sarah Walter (Creative Director, New Look); Sharon Dowsett (Make up artist); Victoria Hislop (author).

The event was hosted by actress and face of Pantene Pro-V haircare, Anna Friel. The line up of award presenters included panel members Ben Cooke and Sharon Dowsett. Also presenting awards were Johan Samuelson (model and face of Boss Skin), Emma Griffiths (MTV presenter), Patrick Cox (shoe designer), Eva Birthistle (actress), Camilla Rutherford (actress and face of Olay), Nicolas Hoult (actor), Nicky Clarke (hairstylist), Leah Wood (model, singer and face of Aussie haircare) and Jerry Hall (model and actress).

There were 13 award categories in total, including two new categories – Best Beauty/Grooming Editor of a Weekly Title and Best Practical Piece. Nine awards were judged by the expert panel, including Best Beauty Editor of a Monthly Consumer Glossy, Best Newcomer and Best Beauty/Grooming Feature. The beauty and grooming press judged three awards - Best Make Up Artist, Best Beauty Photographer and Best Hair Stylist. P&G Beauty consumers this year judged the final award, which this year rewarded the title they felt ‘covered beauty or grooming best’.

The stylish event included a drinks and canapé reception, the awards ceremony itself, and an after show party.
